These Transition Bottles are the peak of Buoy-style environmental conservation. When the injection molding process changes from one color to another, the usual way to do the transition is to clear all the old color from the screw of the injection molder, which makes a noodle-looking mass on the machine, then throw that away and introduce new plastic and dye. Then make another noodle-mass until the color is right, then start making parts. Here's what that noodle tangle of ejected plastic looks like:

These little bits of waste add up, and our job is to conserve resources, not waste them. So when we got to our new manufacturer, we asked them not to clear the machine per usual techniques but rather to continue making bottles. We buy all the in-between colors and this is where we let you purchase them. Each of these Mix-Up transition bottles are unique. For this batch, we have some transition bottoms and thumb loops but no transition middles.
